Transmission of large capacity content data likely induces congestion and increases transmission load on the bottleneck link. In order to avoid the congestion, we have investigated on SMPC (Simultaneous Multi-Path Communication) method to distribute a flow of data to multipath. SMPC generates a sub-path by IP-based source routing and controls transmission bandwidth of each path monitoring its congestion status. By using SMPC, congestion is avoidable, maintaining throughput of the flow. The longer-hop path, however, likely consumes the more network resource. Therefore, in this research we propose the path-priority control method on transmission with multipath. This method minimizes consumption of network resource at SMPC. |
