Adaptive Active Control for Low Latency and Low Energy in Cluster-Tree Wireless Sensor Networks
Narumi Kai, Shiro Sakata, Nobuyoshi Komuro (Chiba Univ.) IN2013-150
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In wireless sensor networks, power saving is an important issue.
In addition, low latency and high delivery ratio are also important for some applications.
IEEE 802.15.4 beacon mode, which is the standard communication protocol for wireless sensor networks,
controls synchronization and sleep schedule by using parameters on duty-cycle.
Power consumption, latency, and delivery rate are greatly influenced by the synchronization timing and the duty-cycle.
This paper proposes a novel tree-topology clustering method and adaptive active period control.
The proposed method achieves low power consumption, low latency and high delivery ratio.
Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
