Recently, mobile communications network is significantly congested in many cases due to the increase in communication traffic through the spread of smart phones, and communication speed does not satisfy the user expectations. Therefore, it is urgently necessary to secure new frequency band for mobile communications and "white-spaces," which are allocated to existing communication systems but temporary or spatially unused, are expected as the frequency bands available for those purposes. To realize TDD/FDD dual mode LTE communication system in TV white-spaces, authors have developed base stations and terminal adapters utilizing TV white-spaces and white-space database cooperated with those devices. In this study, we propose a scenario to offload traffic from an existing band to white-space by using developed TVWS LTE system, and evaluate a time for use channel decision. |
