Impact of Nonlinear Distortion on Super High Bit Rate Massive MIMO Transmission Using Higher Frequency Bands
Jiyun Shen, Satoshi Suyama, Tatsunori Obara, Yukihiko Okumura (NTT DOCOMO) RCS2013-350
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) To make a Phantom Cell concept based future mobile network with super high bit rate and capacity in reality, this report evaluates a feasibility of 20 Gbps super high bit rate transmission using Massive MIMO by simulations using 20 GHz frequency bands under an influence of nonlinear distortion caused by transmission power amplifier. This report targets 20 GHz band 20 Gbps as one example, and evaluates PAPR and throughput performance of Massive MIMO by link-level simulation considering a nonlinear distortion due to the transmission power amplifier, and the numbers of transmitter antennas and streams are 256 and 16, respectively.
