Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In next generation wireless communication systems, broadband data services are required even in high mobility environment. In conventional centralized antenna network (CAN), the received power at a location remote from BS significantly degrades due to propagation loss. Distributed antenna network (DAN) is an effective scheme to solve this problem. Recently, we have studied DAN using frequency-domain space-time block coded joint transmit/receive diversity (FD-STBC-JTRD). In DAN, some distributed antennas can always be visible from mobile terminal (MT) with a high probability, and hence, the channel is expected to be line-of-sight (LOS) channel. Therefore, the fading can be characterized as doubly-selective (time- and frequency-selective) Nakagami-Rice fading. In this paper, we introduce sparse channel estimation method which is suitable for doubly selective Nakagami-Rice fading and evaluate downlink throughput performance of FD-STBC-JTRD in DAN in high mobility environment by using computer simulation. It is shown that FD-STBC-JTRD performs better throughput performance in DAN compared to CAN even in high mobility environment.
