Simple Diversity Combining Techniques for Cyclostationarity Detection Based Spectrum Sensing of OFDM Signals in Cognitive Radio

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper presents simple diversity combining techniques for cyclostationarity detection based spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks. The presented techniques combine the cyclic autocorrelation function (CAF) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals whereas general diversity combining techniques combines some received signals. A signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of numerical values of CAF is shown, and the presented techniques improved the SNR using diversity combining techniques. It is well known that the CAF of OFDM signals has a peak and non-peak at some cyclic frequencies, the presented techniques combine these CAF obtained at each received antenna to improve the performance of spectrum sensing. The presented results are compared with some conventional results, and computational and theoretical analysis results show that the presented techniques can improve the performance of spectrum sensing.
