PADM (Per transmit Antenna Differential Mapping) Transmit Diversity Employing Higher Order Channel Prediction -- Introduction of Asymmetric Differential Mapping --
Hiroshi Kubo (Ritsumeikan Univ.) RCS2013-340
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper discusses performance of PADM (per transmit antenna differential mapping) transmit diversity employing higher order channel prediction for fast time-varying fading channels. The author proposed PSP (per-survivor processing) demodulation schemes based on higher order channel prediction for PADM transit diversity, which is one of differential space-time trellis coding. Although this demodulation scheme can track fast time-varying channels, it suffers from serious sensitivity performance degradation. This paper proposes a new type asymmetric differential mapping rule for PADM transmit diversity. Next, computer simulation results confirm that the proposed asymmetric differential mapping rule can improve sensitivity performance compared with the conventional symmetric differential mapping rule, especially in the case of larger multi-level modulation index.
