A Study on Adjacent Channel Leakage in 2.4 GHz WLAN

(in English) The number of APs for hotspots and mobile routers including tethering stations is increasing.
Hence, adjacent channel interference in 2.4 GHz WLAN is one of critical issues for its availability in outdoor environment.
In this report, we measured the distance between two AP where throughput starts to fall in outdoor environment.
Moreover, we analyze the cause of degradation of throughput by adjacent channel leakage with the data derived by capturing WLAN frames.
In addition, we show the validity of using the same channel rather than different channels as neighbor AP's channel with data of outdoor measuring experiment.
Using the same channel as neighbor AP's channel increases throughput and fairness and decreases retransmission of data frames.
