Area- and Angle-preserving Projection of Tissue Surface Model onto Target Surface

(in English) This paper proposes a new method for mapping a tissue surface model onto a target surface while preserving geometrical features of the tissue surface. The proposed method is based on Self-organizing Deformable Model (SDM) whose shape is deformed by using a competitive learning and In our method, several landmarks selected from the tissue model can be mapped onto their target positions of the target surface. In addition, our method preserves the area and angle of each patch included in the original model before and after mapping. Using the mapping result, some models with different numbers of vertices are represented with a unified model structure. From several experimental results, we can conclude that the proposed method can resample equally the original model while controlling mapping positions of landmarks.
