Subcarrier Allocation Method to Avoid Impact of Chromatic Dispersion Induced Fading on CO-OFDM Signal

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In O-OFDM transmission, chromatic dispersion induced fading affects performance difference among subcarrier channels, including no response from a transmission system for specific subcarriers. In this paper, the impact of fading is evaluated experimentally and analytically in a CO-OFDM system. For an OFDM-PON system which has inhomogeneous distribution of the ONUs, we propose a subcarrier allocation method to avoid the influence, by which an available subcarrier with a higher frequency corresponding to the transmission distance is allocated to a channel. The validity is obtained through evaluating efficiencies of channel utilization.
