Application of network coding to the location information exchange by the VANET at the intersection
Shogo Sato, Hiroaki Morino (Shibaura Inst. of Tech.) MoNA2013-53
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In VANET, network coding methods are extensively studied for reducing the total amount of packet transmissions. We focus the purpose of using VANET on the prevention of car crashes in the cases of straight going vehicles against right-turn vehicles at intersections. In this paper, we propose a method which improves the packet arrival rate by dividing nodes into multiple groups at intersections, and sets the backoff time unique to each group. Then we evaluate the effectiveness of proposal based on participation or secession caused to vehicle movement of the relay node.
