Recently, the security of optical communications has been regarded as important matter for next generation network. In order to take measures,
Bell Labs started a discussion of a security analysis of the space
division multiplexed optical fiber system using multi core fiber.
This is highly suggestive for the direction of the future development
of this field. Thus, to introduce contents and to make steady progress is significance. They assume in a tapping process that the Signal to Noise ratio of an eavesdropper is smaller than that of a legitimate receiver,
and they apply the well known wiretap channel theory. To generalize it, one needs to add an artificial randomness to relax a dependence of the ability of an eavesdropper, because the randomness of mode coupling depends on the ability of an eavesdropper. We consider how to improve it and propose a simple method. In addition, we show the security formula of Y-00 quantum stream cipher based on the same criterion with the theory of Bell Labs, which corresponds the ultimate secret capacity. |
