Study on multiple flux transformers with saddle coils for ultra-low field MRI using an optically pumped atomic magnetometer

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, ultra-low field MRIs have attracted attention. The ULF-MRI requires a high-sensitive sensor in low-frequency range, so that, optically pumped atomic magnetometers (OPAMs) are expected to be utilized. Since MR signals could not be measured with high sensitivity when a sample and an OPAM were placed in the same magnetic field, the remote MR signal detection with flux transformers (FTs) has been proposed. In this study, to improve signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), we propose a remote detection method with multiple FTs. From numerical analyses of SNR and the measurements of pseudo-MR signals, it was confirmed that SNR was improved by using two FTs.
