Investigation of Phantom for Angiosystem Evaluation Using Ultrasonic Images

(in English) When you have devised a new index for evaluating the degree of arteriosclerosis, evaluation of the validity of the estimation method or indicators is always difficult. Use of the phantom simulating the living vascular system would be useful. However, the phantom has to be similar to biological vascular system in terms of both material mechanical and ultrasonic wave propagation characteristics if ultrasonic echo will be used. From the viewpoint of ultrasonic propagation characteristics and mechanical, We fabricated a phantom similar to the surrounding tissue and carotid.
