Dynamic Task Scheduling for Energy Harvesting Nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks

(in English) In this paper, we propose a task scheduling algorithm which performs fair and periodic data collection from all nodes in energy harvesting wireless sensor networks. In the proposed algorithm, tasks of sensing, transmission and reception for a sensor node are prioritized and scheduled according to the harvested energy of the node. As for performance measures, we consider the amount of data sent to a sink node and fairness indices of node location and sensing time. The proposed algorithm is evaluated by simulation for a sensor network with line topology. Numerical examples show that when each node has a large buffer and the highest priority is allocated to the sensing task, the proposed method exhibits better performance than the conventional method.
