Outage Probability Analysis of ZF Receivers in MU-MIMO Systems for Composite Fading Channel

(in English) The performance of multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) systems is not only affected by multi-path fading but also from shadowing and path loss. In this paper, we elucidate on the sum rate distribution of MU-MIMO systems employing the linear zero-forcing (ZF) receivers, accounting for composite fading channel effects which consist of Rayleigh fading and shadowing, as well as spatial correlation at the transmit and receive side. Especially, we consider the classical spatially correlated lognormal model for shadowing and propose closed-from bounds on the distribution of achievable sum rate in MU-MIMO systems. With the help of these bounds, we demonstrate a relationship between the inter-user distance and channel 10% outage probability under the different environmental features. A practical conclusion from our results is that the effects of spatially correlated shadowing can be considered as independent when the inter-user distance is approximately more than 5 times related to the correlation distance of shadowing. A detailed analysis on the effects of composite channels attenuation is also provided.
