A coexistence scheme for wireless LAN and multiple wireless PANs

(in English) To operate IEEE 802.11g based wireless LANs (WLANs) and IEEE 802.15.4 based wireless personal area networks (WPANs) in the 2.4 GHz band and the same location, we had proposed the coexistence scheme called distributed active channel reservation of coexistence (DACROS). In the DACROS scheme, a WPAN system is exclusively assigned traffic resources. However, when there are multiple WPANs in a WLAN cell, WLAN throughput performance are deteriorated because wireless channel are individually assigned to multiple WPANs. This paper proposes the synchronization method between multiple WPANs to solve this problem. Computer simulation and theoretical analysis show that proposed method improve the throughput performance of WLAN in the WLAN and WPANs coexistence system.
