The non-homogeneous Poisson processes (NHPPs) based software reliability models (SRMs) have gained much popularity in actual software testing phases to assess the software reliability, the number of remaining software faults and the software release scheduling. This paper aims to investigate the effectiveness of the "exponentiated" distributions in NHPP-based SRMs. In fact, many attentions have been paid to the generalization of the traditional exponential distribution or Weibull distribution to meet the needs of modeling the non-monotone failure rate function flexibly. This paper offers a quick information on generalizations of traditional probability distributions, taking "exponentiated" as the keyword of information arrangement. The families of exponentiated exponential distributions and exponentiated Weibull distributions are focused. We especially pay our attentions to picking out the suitable probability distributions for software reliability modeling. |
