An implantable device is embedded into a human body, transmits a vital information to external equipments by use of a wireless communication link. It will replace a cable connectivity implanted into the human body for biological telemetry monitoring. An implanted antenna for monitoring of biological information was proposed. The antenna element has planar structure and can match an integrated circuit (IC) chip. The antenna is designed to operate at 2.45 GHz, one of the industrial-scientific-medical (ISM) bands. In this report, the antenna characteristics implanted in a multilayer medium model was analyzed. In addition, the antenna was fabricated and the input impedance and radiation patterns were measured with phantom in order to confirm the validity of the calculations. |
