[Poster Presentation] A study on mobility load balancing methods in IVC and RVC cooperative systems

(in English) In February, 2012, ARIB STD-T-109 is standardized by Association of Radio Industries and Businesses for IVC (Inter-Vehicle Communications) and RVC (Road-Vehicle Communications), and ITS applications in 700 MHz band is being developed.
In ARIB STD-T-109, IVC and RVC share one channel, whose bandwidth is equal to 10MHz, with time division duplex.
It is possible to avoid a collision problem between IVC and RVC in principle.
Moreover, RVC adapts CSMA/CA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance) for the communication among the vehicles.
However, this system suffers from a disadvantage of the increase of packet collision probability because many vehicles start the IVC transmission procedure concurrently.
This paper proposes a new mobility load balancing method in order to reduce the collision probability at the beginning of the IVC period.
We set randomly a special transmission prohibition period at the beginning of the IVC period for each vehicle.
By computer simulations, we evaluate the proposed method in comparison with the conventional one.
