[Invited Lecture] Experimental Study on Elevation Directional Channel Properties to Evaluate Performance of FD-MIMO at Base Station in Microcell Environment -- Outdoor to Indoor Propagation Environment (O2I Scenario) --

(in English) To increase capcity of mobile communication systems, FD-MIMO which utilizes 2D array structure antenna which deploys antena elements on vertical and horizotal directions attracts a lot of attentions. In this paper, we outline the 3D channel model to evaluate avobe mentioned techniques. Moreover, we investigated elevation directional channel property at BS in microcell outdoor to indoor (O2I) environmet based on measurement result of vector channel sounder. Specifically, properties of elevation angular spreasd (ESD) and mean EOD are studied. As a result, we clarified following points; (1) The mean EOD is proportional to LOS angle, however, it has offset from LOS angle to ground direction. (2) ESD tends to increase with decrease of the distance between BS and MS and increase of MS antenna height.
