Novel proposal of information hiding technology and its robustness by utilizing an artificial fiber pattern for an augmented reality system

(in English) The technology behind augmented reality (Augmented Reality, AR or later) can be divided into sensor types based on the use of GPS and other sensors and vision-based type using visible markers or the natural features of images. Each technology is having the advantages and disadvantages of accurate position of Computer Graphics(CG), the disturbance for the landscape and the amount of database. To overcome its problems, we extend the target of "the artificial fiber pattern" –the technique for embedding information without the disturbance in the printed paper using the scanner- to the object of the real world such as walls and floors, and we consider the apply of the technology as the key in the AR, where in the captured image of what you want to overlap. In this paper, we evaluate the Robustness of an artificial fiber pattern.
