Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Research on plant photosynthesis is becoming very important due to serious problems of rising CO2 levels and the food depletion crisis. We have studied thermal radiation for a thermal damage protection in the photosynthesis process of scheffelera arboricola (kapok). We gave considerable attention to experiments of in vivo measurement on the photothermal signal (PT signal) of the kapok leaf. In this paper, we show results of experiments regarding frequency dependence of the PT signal caused by an irradiation wavelength of 633nm on living and dead leaves of the kapok.
