A comparison of power amplifier efficiency for OFDM systems with peak power reduction

(in English) Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system has high bandwidth efficiency as well as robustness against maltipath fading, but its power conversion efficiency at power ampli er (PA) is considerably low because of its high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) nature of transmit signals. In this paper, we make comparisons in terms of the improvement of the power ampli er efficiency that can be achieved by peak power reduction techniques such as clipping and ltering (CAF), selected mapping (SLM), and trellis shaping (TS).
