Downlink Coverage Probability of Fractional Frequency Reuse for MIMO Heterogeneous Networks
He Zhuang, Tomoaki Ohtsuki (Keio Univ.) RCS2013-172
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we propose a new model of heterogeneous networks (HetNets). The modern HetNets consists of K tiers, and each tier usually has one kind of base stations (BSs).We model the BSs’ locations of each tier by different independent Poisson point process (PPP), which naturally captures the randomness of BSs. Furthermore we consider both closed and open access case, the fractional frequency reuse (FFR), which
is an interference management technique, and multiple-input multiple-out (MIMO) technique in the HetNets. Taking advantage of powerful mathematical tools of PPP, we derive the coverage probability expression of the cell-edge users, which has low signal to interference ratio (SIR), and show the simulation results. We also discuss the impact of the main parameters on the coverage probability.
