Super High Bit Rate Radio Access Technologies for Future Radio Access and Mobile Optical Network

(in English) This report overviews super high bit rate radio access technologies for future radio access and mobile optical network. In order to tackle rapidly increasing traffic, future radio access network in mobile communications introduces small cells using higher frequency bands to expand channel capacity, and aims to achieve super high bit rate transmission realizing several tens Gbps. Massive MIMO using higher frequency bands is employed as one of radio access technologies to realize super high bit rate transmission. Moreover, on the enhancement of Phantom cell concept that separately connects radio links for Control (C)-plane and User (U)-plane to the macro cell and the small cell, we indicate physical layer control that can efficiently establish the radio links for the small cells using higher frequency bands. In addition, we introduce effects of load balancing among small cells using lower SHF bands in the future radio access network.
