A Study on Semi-Blind Interference Alignment with Multiple Users

(in English) When multiple transmitters transmit their information simultaneously
using the same frequency, the strong interference occurs at every
receiver side, which degrades the overall performance of the network.
A key concept of that arises in the context of the interference
channel is interference alignment (IA) that refers to an overlap of
signal spaces occupied by undesired interference at each receiver
while keeping desired signal spaces distinct.
However, all the channel responses are required at every transmitter
and receiver to realize the IA, which are practically demanding.
Hence, semi-blind IA (S-BIA) scheme has been proposed for 2×2
user X channels, which only requires local channel responses
corresponding to each transmitter and can achieve 4/3
degrees-of-freedom (DoF).
In this paper, we propose S-BIA for M×2 user X channels
composed of M transmitters and 2 receivers and analyze the channel
capacity of S-BIA in order to show that S-BIA can achieve the
2M/(M+1) DoF similar to the conventional IA.
