Finite-Difference Time-Domain Analysis of Optical Properties of Cholesteric Blue Phase Liquid Crystal

(in English) Cholesteric blue phases are liquid crystal phases that spontaneously form three-dimensionally periodic helical structures with a periodicity of the order of a few 100 nm. BPs have attracted much attention because of their potential for applications in optics, arising from their properties such as fast electro-optic response and macroscopic optical isotropy. In this study, we calculated the optical propagation in BPs using by Finite-Difference Time-Domain method, and discussed about the transmission properties and photonic band structure of BPs.
