Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We investigated the effect of solute on translation-orientation coupling in the mixture of liquid crystal and non- liquid crystal solvent through the translational -orientational coupling constant obtained from complex strain-optical coefficient studied by means of high frequency rheo-optical measurements. The sample 4-cyano-4’pentylbiphenyl (5CB) is used as a liquid crystal, and triphenyl phosphite (TPP), carbon tetrachloride and decane are used as non-liquid crystal. We confirmed quantitative differences of effect on translation-orientation coupling depending on mixtures.
