In measurement of small antennas, the method using the RoF (Radio on Fiber) can remove the influence of RF cables. For accurate measurement in this method, it is important to miniaturize PD (Photodiode) or optical electric field sensor. We develop a prototype of a small PD module for the radiation pattern measurement system where the RoF is used on the transmission side. Since the PD module can be operated without a battery, the module becomes smaller. We show that the time variation of the amplitude is small, and the agreement between the measured and calculated radiation patterns of the antenna on a small terminal is very good. Also, we confirm that the miniaturization of the PD module enables more accurate measurement of small antennas. The size of the present PD module is 16mm×16mm×5mm. |
