(in English) We can obtain many interesting aspects only by watching television, e.g., what's going on in Japan and the world, what is the current trends, how is economic activities, and so on. This talk will introduce couple of trials to automatically analyze such information by pattern analysis techniques. In particular, based on the large-scale broadcast video archive collecting four years of all programs of terrestrial broadcast in Tokyo area, the talk will cover the extremely fast commercial film mining and its application to marketing analysis, the robust and automatic face identification applied to news programs and the analysis of temporal evolution of specific persons, and the mutual effect analysis between broadcast video and blog by detecting the same objects appeared in broadcast video and blog images.
