Recently, there have been many fatal victims by sudden disasters like earthquakes, terrorisms and chemical explosion around the world. In these disasters, it is very important to detect the occurrence of them as soon as possible and evacuate people quickly in anywhere and anytime. To deal with these issues, the authors have been developing an information communication system using the mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET). In the conventional MANET protocols, there are two essential problems. 1) The power consumption of user terminal becomes large, and 2) The communication traffic of the network becomes large.
So, in this paper, we propose a new method to exchange information with minimum range and change the communication range depending on the situation. In this way, this method can reduce both the communication traffic of network and the power consumption of user terminal. We carry out the performance evaluations by computer simulations to show the validity of the proposed method. As the results, we found that the proposed method has low network load and low power consumption. |
