Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse (ARFI) has been actively studied in the field of medical ultrasonics. Generally, long pulses are used for ARFI, therefore we need to take account of thermal and physical effects on biological tissues. In this report, we propose the optical fiber system using Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) to measure ultrasound pressure and temperature change separately. We obtained 4.07 V/MPa in 10 mm FBG and 0.356 V/MPa in 1mm FBG. We detected the temperature changes from 37 to 40 °C and from 39 to 42 °C in 10mm FBG. In 1mm FBG, however, the further study will be required to detect the wide range of temperature changes. |
