| (in English) | Food is indispensable to our life and the content is influential to our health. We have been developing “FoodLog” which is a multimedia food recording tool making use of food photos. We made FoodLog Web system open to public in 2009, by which we can make our food photo diary with food balance evaluation estimated by image processing. In July 2013, we launched FoodLog application for smartphone, which assists a user to record food name and calculate energy by image recognition. The food photo is very useful not only for viewing purpose, but also for image analysis. In this talk, we will present image processing methods we developed in our research project. FoodLog, which is initially meant for self-monitoring use for general public, is also being customized for nutrition guidance in professional organization. We also present tasks extended from multimedia FoodLog. | |
