Fundamental Study on the Indoor Location Estimation of Moving Person in Multipath Environment

(in English) Recently, location estimation of persons has been attracting attention for man-location observation and security purpose. There are many kinds of systems for the purpose. Radio sensor system is one of the system among them. However, radio sensor system sometimes hard to use for the indoor location estimation because of severe multipath by the wall and furniture. The target echo will be masked by the strong multipath waves by the wall and furniture. In addition, these many multipath waves often cause the problem of DoFs (Degree-of-freedoms) of array. This problem becomes important when we apply high-resolution method such as the MUSIC. In this report, we propose to apply Doppler filtering method to remove unwanted response(s), or to extract desired response(s), in the indoor moving target estimation such as walking persons. Experimental results will be presented to show availability of the proposed method for human detection in indoor multipath environment.
