Reliability Evaluation of Camera Identification Methods Using PRNU Noises Based on Numerical Simulation

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) It is known that a digital image includes photo response non-uniformity (PRNU) noise caused from the different sensitivities of image sensors, and
camera identification methods using PRNU noise have been proposed in recent years. For accepting this method as an evidence in a court, false acceptance rate (FAR) must be extremely low. However, the reliability of those camera identification methods is not proved sufficiently. In this paper, we evaluate the reliability of existing camera identification methods with large number of pseudo samples generated based on a PRNU noise model.
