Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This study seeks to lay the basis for a vocabulary selection guideline suitable for outdoors public address systems. For this, an intelligibility test using groups of four words and featuring long pass echoes was conducted. The word familiarity used, as well as the number of echoes and their pattern was controlled throughout the experiment. A quantitative analysis of the effects of these three parameters on the intelligibility of the word groups was carried out. It was found that using high-familiarity words allows for robust speech communication even in the presence of long pass echoes.
