A Generalized Hybrid ARQ scheme using a likelihood calculation based on reliability of each frame

(in English) We propose a new Generalized Hybrid ARQ scheme. It uses a likelihood calculation based on the reliability of each frame. We define the reliability as SNR. In a fading channel, Viterbi decoding that uses nothing but the received signal level doesn’t provide the best throughput performance because the reliability varies at every frame. In this paper, we modify the branch metric calculation of the Viterbi decoder so that the proper likelihood can be obtained. The simulation results show that the throughput performance of the Generalized Hybrid ARQ scheme using the proposed method is superior to that of the conventional scheme.
