Experimental Performance Evaluation of Multi-User MIMO Experimental System with User Selection Schemes in Actual Indoor Environment

(in English) In a multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) system with precoding, user selection schemes have been studied to improve transmission performance by multi-user diversity gain.
User selection schemes selects a user group in which one is approximately orthogonal to others.
Performance of user selection schemes are affected by channel correlations.
Therefore, it is important to evaluate the performance of user selection schemes in an actual propagation environment. Although a lot of user selection schemes have been proposed, few literature have been reported the transmission performance measured in a MU-MIMO transmission experiment. This paper presents the experimental results of MU-MIMO experimental system with low-complexity user selection schemes.Downlink transmission experiments are carried out in an actual indoor environment and the transmit power and the bit error rate performance are presented under a constant received power constraint. The results show that the user selection scheme can achieve multi-user diversity for the MU-MIMO experimental system in the actual indoor environment.
