A Design and Fabrication of an Implantable Flexible Multimodal ECoG-NIRS Probe

(in English) Multimodal probe which combine NIRS probe with implanted electrode array was developed by using flexible printed circuit technology. The device realizes the simultaneous measurement of electrical activity and hemodynamic change on cerebral cortex with a high special resolution and a high signal-to-noise ratio. In this report, principle and structure of the device are shown. The Monte Carlo technique was used for simulating light propagation in order to design the device which has a small source-detector distance. Fabrication of the devise using flexible printed circuit technology is explained.
