A Study on Adaptive Optics for Downlink Transmission in Indoor Optical Wireless MIMO Communication Systems

(in English) This paper proposes an adaptive optics techniques which dynamically controls beam-width and direction of transmitting optical antenna according to the terminal position along with dynamic selection of optical transmit antennas thereby reducing multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel correlation for optical wireless systems even in practical line-of-sight (LoS) configurations. This paper also proposes a channel estimation scheme for indoor optical wireless MIMO system. Numerical simulation confirms that the adaptive optics technique using proposed channel estimation scheme improves the transmission rate of indoor optical wireless MIMO communication system.
