Equivalent Circuit for a Microstrip Probe Inserted into a Rectangular Waveguide and its Application to Waveguide to MIcrostrip LIne Transitions

(in English) An equivalent circuit of a microstrip probe inserted into a rectangular waveguide has been investigated for design of transitions from the waveguide to the microstrip line. The equivalent circuit for the microstrip probe can be derived by modifying a equivalent circuit of a coaxial probe inseted into the waveguide. The equivalent circuit was applied to design of the waveguide to microstrip line transitions which consist of the microstrip probe and a back short on the waveguide. The matching condition formulas at the waveguide port are obtained with the equivalent circuit for the transition. The transition for WRJ-10 waveguide was designd with wide operating frequency band. By experiments of the prototyped transision, the bandwidth of 3.9GHz for -20dB return loss was confirmed.
