The estimation methods for the amount of fat in hepatitis and fatty liver by ultrasound have been proposed by several researchers. However, the highly precise estimation is not realized, since they are not considering the characteristics of the sound field of ultrasonic diagnostic equipment. In this study, we tried to calculate the attenuation coefficient derived from the acoustical characteristics of biological tissues. In addition, a relationship between the frequency dependency of attenuation coefficient and the stage of fatty liver were considered in tissue mimicking phantom and clinical data. |
