The wavelet shrinkage estimation has been recognized as a new nonparametric method for software reliability assessment. In the existing work, the point estimation of a Haar-wavelet-based approach was focused. This enabled us to estimate the software intensity function in an effective way, where the underlying stochastic process to describe the software-fault detection phenomena was modeled by a non-homogeneous Poisson process. In this paper, we focus on the interval estimation of the Haar-wavelet-based approach. The fundamental idea is to employ the simulation-based bootstrapping. We consider the problem of deriving the confidence intervals of software intensity function and the mean value function, from real software-fault count data. |
