Recently, the 3-dimensional sound field reproduction is proposed to represent sound contents with high realistic sensations.
The sound field reproduction has difficulty requiring many impulse responses measured under the various conditions in the target environment. To overcome this problem, the sound field simulation method is proposed. It can compose many impulse responses from various attributes of the target environment without measuring impulse responses in real environments.WE-FDTD, which is one of the sound field simulation methods, can solve the wave-equation and can compose impulse responses.
However, WE-FDTD has wrong numerical dispersion because WE-FDTD employs approximated finite differences instead of derivation. In this paper, to reduce the numerical dispersion, we propose a new WE-FDTD method based on derivation on the spatial-frequency domain without finite differences.
The computer simulation indicated that the proposed method can reduce the numerical dispersion. |
