Theoretical maximum bandwidth is derived using an equivalent circuit of a folded inverted--L antenna (FILA). Based on the equivalent circuit, input admittance as a function of frequency deviation is derived. Under the conditions of double resonance characteristics, the maximum bandwidth is expressed with relation of the allowable VSWR and quality factor. Additionally, as an essential factor to obtain the maximum bandwidth, the transmission line characteristic impedance in balance mode is obtained. In order to verify theoretical expressions, simulation and measurement are implemented. |
