[Poster Presentation] Coexistence scheme of Wireless LAN and Wireless Sensor Network Employing Priority Control

(in English) To operate IEEE 802.11g based wireless LANs (WLANs) and IEEE 802.15.4 based wireless sensor networks (WSNs) in the same frequency band and the same location, the coexistence scheme was proposed which employs a hybrid-station (H-STA) that has both kind of network device functions. It is called DACROS (Distributed active channel reservation for coexistence) scheme. However, there is a large difference between theoretical analysis and computer simulation results in the failure probability to protect WSN communication. This paper proposes the theoretical analysis method using the IEEE 802.11e analytical model. It enables to calculate the performance of the scheme and to optimize the medium access control (MAC) parameters of H-STA such that WLAN throughput is maximized subject to QoS constraints of WSNs.
