Numerical Study on Narrowband Bandpass Filter using Dual Modes of Terahertz Metallic Photonic Crystal Resonator

(in English) In this work, we focus our interests on terahertz metallic photonic crystals for telecommunications applications. For these and other uses,high-performance and compact electromagnetic wave components for manipulation of terahertz signals are required. One promising candidate is photonic crystals. In order to design metallic (Drude-model) PhC electromagnetic-wave circuits, the dispersion relations of photonic bandgap are firstly calculated by using the plane wave expansion method. Secondly, the eigen-frequencies and mode fields of a point defect microcavity generating localized states in the bandgap are calculated by a supercell method. Finally, the proposed dual-mode bandpass filter is numerically studied by full-wave time-domain method and its design is based on the Foster-type equivalent circuit used in the microwave region.
