[Special Invited Talk] Discovering Latent Structure by Statistical Machine Learning Methods
Takeshi Yamada (NTT) CS2013-4 CQ2013-5
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, Big-data analysis attracts a lot of attentions. In such data analysis, it is important to discover and extract latent structures that are not directly observable but inherent in the given data to understand the nature of the data and predict their future. In this talk, recent progress of the methods to discover latent structures from the data based on statistical machine learning methods and thier applications are reviewed in plain language, especially in the context of conventional clustering methods.
