| (in English) | The use of multiple antenna elements plays a key role for the phased-array radar as well as MIMO(Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) radar. The former controls only the phase of antenna elements of a single transmit signal, and by forming a sharp beam, it can achieve a relatively high SNR. On the other hand, the MIMO radar can achieve a flexible beam pattern by transmitting orthogonal signals from each antenna element, but resulting in a poor SNR. We focus on a MIMO radar which uses non-orthogonal (i.e., cross-correlated) signals. In this report, we first derive an exact formulation of SNRs and beam patterns of the MIMO radar with cross-correlated signals. And then, we evaluate the performance by examining the effectiveness of the new MIMO radar from a viewpoint of beam patterns and SNR. |
